New twist to I Know What You Did Last Summer

The iconic teen scream mount I Know What You Did Last Summer is returning to chill you to the bones. But wait, it has nothing to do with the original trailblazing movie.

The title may be the same but if you were to see the official trailer for I Know What You Did Last Summer, the upcoming mystery thriller series based on Lois Duncan’s novel of the same name, you will marvel at the tightly knit, meant to scare and tear original web series that Amazon Prime will be bringing for you this, well, not so much summer.

The first four episodes will premiere from the Friday of October 15, with new ones being added each Friday, leading up to the season finale on November 12.

Considering that chiller thrillers are the flavour of the season, this one written and produced by Sara Goodman comes with a lot of promise. It is based on Lois Duncan’s 1973 novel, which was also the basis of the iconic 1997 film.

One year after the fatal car accident that haunted their graduation night, a group of teenagers find themselves bound together by a dark secret and stalked by a brutal killer. That’s there in both.

But the difference creeps in soon enough. as they try to piece together who’s after them, they reveal the dark side of their seemingly perfect town and themselves. Everyone is hiding something, and uncovering the wrong secret could be deadly.

Amazon Prime’s I Know What You Did Last Summer is produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television. Goodman writes and executive produces alongside Original Film’s Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty, Erik Feig, Peter Guber, Atomic Monster’s James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett, Craig William Macneill and Shay Hatten.

The series stars Madison Iseman, Bill Heck, Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, and Brooke Bloom.
