6 steps to prepare this classic Indian dessert

Makhana kheer is one such versatile dish that is cooked on almost every occasion. Be it birthdays, pooja, weddings, etc. This recipe demands more than three ingredients but they are optional add ons. To begin with, let’s check out the ingredients required.

Ingredients:
500 grams makhana/ fox nuts
2 litres of full cream milk
1.5 cups of sugar
4-5 drops of kewra water (optional)
7-8 cashews, pistachios and almonds roughly chopped

Method:

Step 1: Boil 2 litres of milk on a high flame.

Step 2: Once the milk is boiled, simmer it and stir slowly. Keep stirring until the milk becomes thick and less in quantity.

Step 3: Now add 500 grams of makhana to the thickened milk and stir.

Step 4: Once the kheer is cooked, add 1.5 cups of sugar in it and stir for once.

Step 5: After 2 minutes turn off the flame and add 3-5 drops of kewra water to it.

Step 6: Garnish it with some cashews, almonds and pistachios and refrigerate it for a couple of hours.
