Five simple kitchen hacks you did not know

1. Sooji (semolina) getting infested? Always dry roast the entire packet of sooji before storing it in a clean dry air-tight jar.

2. In a hurry for onions to turn golden in your karhai? Just add 1/4th tsp salt and then saute. It will brown much faster.

3. Stored Rice getting eaten up by pests? Add some laung (cloves) to the stored rice. It will age and yet stay fresh as ever.

4. Housefly attack on the kitchen? Just mix a spoonful of vinegar with some soap water in a bowl and keep it open on the floor. All the flies will fall into the trap.

5. Last but not the least, have too much buttermilk at hand with no one consuming it? Make paneer out of it by putting it on a slow boil till it curdles. The buttermilk should not be sour or the paneer will turn out sour.
