Asha Bhosle, the melody queen of Bollywood has turned 88 today! She has spent more than seven decades in the music industry and has more than 11,000 songs to her name which are in 20 different languages.

She is often recognised by her pen name Asha Ji or Asha Tai in the music industry. Asha Ji started her career in 1943 and is one of the most loved and respected singers of Hindi cinema.

She is honoured with many awards such as IIFA Lifetime Achievement Award, Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award and has also been the recipient of the Dadasahaeb Phalke award in 2000 and the Padma Vibhusan in 2008, respectively.
