Cricket trends on Twitter with 75 million chirps

If it is Cricket, India mostly explodes with views and conversation and this time round it’s all been happening on Twitter. The big-ticket tournaments like the IPL and the upcoming T20 World Cup in the UAE, fans have come to service for a second-screen experience like no other. Amidst nail-biting finishes and thrilling catches, Twitter’s virtual stadium is has been echoing with more than 76 million Cricket conversations punctuated with fans sharing ball-by-ball updates of matches and supporting their favourite teams.

Twitter took a look at cricket conversations from the past year – finding that, between 01 July 2020 – 01 July 2021, there have been over 75 million conversations about cricket on the service in India. Here’s what fans on Twitter have been talking about the most over the past year (July 2020 – July 2021):
