T20 WC: Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by 5 wickets in close contest
2014 champions Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by five wickets in its first Group 1 game of Super 12 stage in Sharjah on Sunday to open its campaign on a positive note.
In an all Asian contest between the two sides which came into the Super 12 round through qualifiers fifties from Mohammad Naim (62 off 52) and Mushfiqur Rahim (57 off 37) went in vain as Sri Lanka won in the close contest.

Chasing a stiff target, Sri Lanka lost the wicket of Kusal Perera (1) in the very first over. But, Charith Asalanka (80 off 49) and Bhanuka Rajapaksa (53 off 31) smashed fifties and helped Sri Lanka chase down the target in 18.5 overs with 5-wickets in hand.
