Theo Hernández renews AC Milan contract until 2026

French left back Theo Hernández has signed a new deal with Serie A giants AC Milan, getting a significant bump in salary as well.

After Matteo Gabbia’s renewal (2026) last month, and those of Stefano Pioli (2023), Davide Calabria (2025), Simon Kjær (2024) and Alexis Saelemaekers (2026) before, Friday was the day many fans have been waiting for: Theo Hernández has extended his deal with Milan.

“Milan is pleased to announce that Theo Bernard François Hernández has renewed his contract with the club until 30 June 2026,” a statement reads.

“Theo joined the Rossoneri in the summer of 2019 and immediately showed his qualities on the pitch, earning the admiration and affection of Milan fans all over the world. After 108 appearances, 19 goals and 18 assists, we are happy to continue on this journey with Theo Hernández.”

Theo is regarded as one of the best fullbacks in the world and this renewal is further confirmation of the Milan project. As part of the extension, the Frenchman, who arrived from Real Madrid in 2020 for €20m, will get an increase – going from €1.5m per season to €4m plus bonuses.

The 24-year-old will have some time to celebrate as he’s suspended for Sunday’s match against Sampdoria at San Siro following his red card in the 95th minute of the Derby della Madonnina.
